Though far from perfect, I always thought that Hellgate: London was a fun game. It took the elements that made Diablo 2 great and mitigated them into a first person shooter. I was always upset that Flagship studios did not spend a little more time with the game prior to launch to clean up its problems, which ultimately lead to the game failing; and Flagship closing its doors.
Well, luckily for Hellgate fans, Korean company Hanbitsoft has brought the game back as a free-to-play MMO. These are the same guys who brought back Mythos, another old Flagship game, in free-to-play MMO form.
I've spent a little bit of time with the game, and have so far been please. Bizarrely, there seems to be a couple graphical glitches that have survived since the original, but everything else - thus far - seems to have been greatly improved.
I will be sure to provide more updates as I play more and will also, eventually, release a review. Being that this is an MMO, I won't release a full review until I have spent a lot of time the game.
